A Cashless Society: Facts and Issues

In this chapter, I would like to describe my views on the development of a cashless society. We will first examine statistics related payments. When calculated include bank transfers/account transfers, payment ratio reaches as high 92% in Japan, which is not low figure even among developed countries. With regard choice method, empirical studies and observed facts indicate that cost structure much more complex than function considered by economic theorists, there are differences retailers their attitudes toward pricing discounts.
